MOUTH VS NASAL BREATHING
Why Mouth Breathing is Bad
Mouth breathing, as opposed to nasal breathing, can have negative effects on both physical and mental health. Breathing through the mouth bypasses the natural filtration system of the nasal passages, which can lead to an increased risk of respiratory infections and allergies. It also tends to dry out the mouth, leading to bad breath and potential dental issues such as gum disease and tooth decay.
Moreover, chronic mouth breathing can disrupt sleep patterns, contributing to issues like snoring, sleep apnea, and fatigue. Nasal breathing is more efficient in delivering oxygen to the body and helps regulate carbon dioxide levels, promoting better overall health and well-being.
Additionally, prolonged mouth breathing may alter facial development, leading to conditions like malocclusion (misalignment of teeth) and even changes in the structure of the jaw and face over time.
In summary, mouth breathing can have a range of negative consequences, from oral health problems to sleep disturbances and even facial structure changes. Encouraging nasal breathing habits is important for maintaining optimal health and well-being.
Why Nasal Breathing is Good
Nasal breathing offers a multitude of benefits for overall health and well-being. The nasal passages act as a natural filtration system, trapping particles and pathogens from the air we breathe, thereby reducing the risk of respiratory infections and allergies. Additionally, nasal breathing helps to humidify and warm the air, making it easier on the lungs and reducing the likelihood of irritation.
Furthermore, nasal breathing promotes optimal oxygen-carbon dioxide exchange in the lungs, ensuring efficient oxygenation of the blood and removal of carbon dioxide waste. This aids in better respiratory function, improved lung capacity, and enhanced physical performance.
Nasal breathing also plays a crucial role in sleep quality, as it helps to regulate breathing patterns and prevent issues like snoring and sleep apnea. Moreover, it stimulates the production of nitric oxide, a molecule that dilates blood vessels, lowers blood pressure, and enhances immune function.
Overall, nasal breathing supports respiratory health, improves oxygenation, enhances sleep quality, and contributes to overall well-being, making it a fundamental aspect of maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Is TapeScape safe if I have allergies?
We all know how frustrating it is when we have a hard time breathing with a stuffy nose.. By using our mouth tape, we are allowing our body to rely on our nose for air to come in which can help with your stuffy nose. But do remember that everyone is different so some may not experience the same outcome!
I normally breathe through my mouth.. Will I suffocate if I use your TapeScape Mouth tape?
Nasal breathing is and will always be the better method of breathing! When we block air from going through our mouths, our brain is programmed to prioritize our nose which will enhance our nasal passage way. But don't worry as well because our mouth tape does have small holes which will allow airflow in if needed. Overall, you will not suffocate and this will promote your body to getting used to breathing through your nose (the better method of breathing).
When is the best time to use the TapeScape Nose strips?
Our nose strips were designed to be used mainly during exercises. That can include fitness at the gym, a walk/run around the neighborhood, doing yard work, etc.. All in all, it can be used at anytime during the day!
Will TapeScape Mouth tape help with my snoring?
It sure will! Think of it as fitness. When we begin to workout, we don't notice results that same day. It takes time to see the results but in the end, you will feel much better. Now lets apply that logic to our mouth tape. If it is your first time sleeping with something that covers your mouth, it may take some time to adjust and notice results, but the more you do it, the better you will adapt!
